Touring Darwin

No plans today, other than to take Pam Mothers Day shoe shopping!! Went out to Casuarina Square which is Darwins biggest shopping centre, couldn't find much there under $200 and although I know she's worth every cent we decided the Home Maker Centre down the road may have more variety?  Found a great pair of walking sandals for Mothers Day sale price of $29, the fact I managed to get a new pair of thongs for $30 is beside the point!

We avoided the Casuarina "free" Beach where all the people who shouldn't get naked do get naked. Drove to Lee Point Beach.  The tide was way out but still had a couple of hours before it was fully out, almost deserted as we walked around the point.  Shared a steak sandwich at the Breeze Bar and Grill.  Next stop, the Nightcliff Jetty, lots of fish in the sea, amazingly colourful cliffs which obviously don't show up as well in the photos.

Back to the motel for an hour before heading to the Mindil Sunset Markets at Mindil Beach at 4 o'clock.  Had a wander around, lots of local craft, Aboriginal paitings and crocodile skin products.  Very interesting markets and there were so many food vans with a mainly Asian mix but many other countries represented.  Difficult decisions were made then enjoyed tea on the Mindil Beach sand dunes before heading home for showers and bed.
