Last day in Darwin

Once again we have a quiet day in Darwin, went down to the waterfront lagoon for an early swim, bit too windy so we had coffee then went for a long walk around the wharves.  Decided to visit the botanical gardens for another long hot walk, lunch at the gardens cafe then home to recuperate before our sea adventure at sunset.
Had to be at Stokers Wharf at 5.15pm, the cruise leaves at 5.30 sharp for a sunset cruise with complimentry  fish and chips.  Got there early and had a walk around, the skipper arrived at about 5pm Darwin time (in other words it may have been about 5.30).  There were lots of choices for the sunset cruise - sailboat, catarmaran or zodiac.  We chose the zodiac (cheaper and faster) and boarded sometime before sunset and headed off to another wharf to pick up the fish and chips, unable to access the wharf so back to the original wharf, collected tea and off we went.  Our reservations about our choice of cruise was soon overcome with a fast ride around the point then a slow cruise along the coast with amazing views of the coastline and the sunset.
A couple of drinks and a belly full of fish and chips, a few figure eights at speed on the way back made it one of the highlights of the Darwin trip and a great way to spend our last night in the city.
Off to Kakadu in the morning - stay tuned!!
