Northern Territory bound, first holiday travel since COVID. We've seen lots of Australia in the past; never been to NT, so here we go. Flying Brisbane to Darwin Monday 8th May, flying back into Brisbane (via Melbourne...and that's a long story!!) on Thursday 25th May. We have 18 days to see 2 months worth of the Territory.
We're hiring a car, spending 5 nights in Darwin, 4 nights in Kakadu, 8 hour drive to spend 1 night in Renner Springs, 7 hour drive to spend 2 nights in Alice Springs, 5 hour drive to spend 5 nights in Uluru. We have a very loose itineray which may suprise some? This is the general plan with a fair bit of planning to be done on the run.

Thursday 18th May to 20th May – Alice
Springs – Elkira Court Motel, 65 Bath St, Alice Springs
Saturday 20th May to 25th May – Uluru
– Sails in the Desert, Yulara Drive, Yulara.
Sunday – Kings Canyon – 3hr drive, 4 hr Canyon Rim Walk,
3hrs home…..
Monday 22nd May – day time – 40min drive to Kata Tjuta
(The Olgas); evening - Field of Lights
Uluru
Tuesday – Uluru bike ride around the base – 3 hours
Thursday 25th May – Leave Uluru 1.15pm, fly via
Melbourne and arrive Brisbane at 8pm

ReplyDeleteWhile in Alice Sorings do the drive to Simpson Gap and Stanley Chasm They also have a great Anzac memorial drive lookout in Alice. There is a great little brewery and nice food beside the caravan park as well. Sails in the desert is really lovely and there is great cafe in the town square at YularaThe art gallery is also beautiful. You could stop for lunch at Kings Canyon station after your walk great burgers and coffee…. Safe travels c
